I was assessed by the consultant and was referred to Emma, physio, and Rachel, psychology. They were both brilliant. Emma then referred me to the podiatry clinic in Newry.
I was seen by 2 young men, Gary and Chris (not sure but think those are the right names), they were so passionate about their job and how wearing the right shoes and the right supports within the shoes can make a difference to your life.
I use a rolator and have had replacement joints in the ankle and knee and suffer from arthritis and fibromyalgia, and I immediately felt the difference to my walking and how I held myself, which will make a difference to my back.
I know that the NHS is struggling but I cannot emphasise enough how wonderful these young people have been to me and how good they are at their jobs and how enthusiastic they are about their respective disciplines. I was made to feel heard and seen and that what I talked about mattered and I just wanted the trust to know about them.
I have been unlucky (or perhaps I should say lucky) to use the NHS a lot in my life and I have usually had wonderful treatment etc but I felt that I wanted to send a thank you letter but was told to go online lol. I felt it important, especially in these days, when everyone seems to have lost confidence in the NHS, to compliment the service because after all I would complain if I had had bad treatment.
