"Made me question myself"

About: Broomfield Hospital

(as a service user),

I was cleared of any issues on my first appointment from breast clinic. Then I had painful breast lump on and off. I assumed the lump could be hormonal or not something serious as it is sore. Since I was referred to head and neck, my GP re-referred me to breast unit to clear out all concerns.

The doctor and the person who did ultrasound stated that they don’t think there is an issue at all. When I said I feel pain, they said they experience pain sometimes. The minute I walked out of that door from the treatment room, I felt like I wasted their time. It wasn’t easy for me to go there and get it done. However, I felt that disappointment or judgment in the room, that made me question myself and my choice to go for this appointment and think how embarrassing it was for me if they were to be thinking that I wasted their time for nothing.
