"All staff were professional and caring"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Gynaecology

(as a service user),

I was in for a gynaecology procedure recently. When I was received into area I was welcomed, blood pressure taken, given gown etc. thereafter staff spoke to me re anaesthetic and gathered info from me. The consultant who was carrying out procedure came and spoke to me. All staff were professional and caring, paying due care to my dignity. This isn’t easy in an area where you are surrounded by other patients - they did the best they could.

Dear pelicankb57

Thank you for sharing your recent experience. I am pleased to read that staff were professional and caring. I will share your feedback with the wider team.

I note your comments in relation to maintaining your dignity and how staff try their best in an area surrounded by other patients. We are reviewing this area to see what improvements we can make as recognise that it is not ideal in terms of activity and privacy.

Thank you again for your time. I hope that you are recovering well.

Kind regards

Lise
