My son needed an emergency extraction due to a dental abscess. He is very young and we had really struggled to get him the right help at our private dentists surgery.
We were taken totally seriously and treated with such care from the moment we went in to A&E Royal Devon University Hospital. We were triaged in 30 mins, seen by a consultant in 50 minutes, who was incredibly kind and said we had done precisely the right thing coming in. From there, we were admitted in 5 hours and GA given by 6pm. The care and compassion we were received were so fantastic and it meant that something that could have been rather upsetting or even traumatic was neither - we went home with out faith in the health service really restored.
I particularly want to thank the consultant and anaesthetist who went out of their way to provide distractions (Spider-Man on an iPad!) so that my son didn’t even notice the cannula going in. You are all magicians, thank you
