About: Poole Hospital / Rheumatology

(as the patient),

Am in pain all the time and don't get much help from the nurse practitioner  at all. They said it is my job making me in pain and said I don't do any exercise at all. I feel it is a waste of my time going to see them as only in appointment for about 15 minutes.

I am so sorry to hear that you are in pain all the time and for your experiences that you did not find the nurse practitioner to be helpful. It is disappointing that your appointment did not address your health concerns to the expectations you had hoped and that you feel it was a waste of time. If you would like your particular case to be reviewed then please do contact the PALS team by telephone 0300 019 8499 or by email on patientexperienceteam@uhd.nhs.uk with your patient details and they can liaise with the rheumatology team.

It must be very frustrating to be so uncomfortable but not be able to access any relief or solutions to your pain. I appreciate it is difficult to exercise when you are in pain and your GP might be able to prescribe some better forms of analgesia to help with this.

The specialist nurses are given very small appointment slots in order to try and see the many patients on the waiting lists, so I do apologise you were not given more time. If we can help you in any way please don't hesitate to get in touch.
