Anything else?
My partner was experiencing lower pains in her back and pelvic area, we rang out of hours dr as she was in a lot of pain, and they guessed it was a kidney infection and got us an emergency appointment ant the royal hans. After a very brief examination he just agreed with the diagnosis and prescribed antibiotics. within hours my partner was becoming much worse, vomiting and the pain was increasing. We rang out of hours again and they booked us an appointment for 8am the next day and advised us to go to a+e if the condition worsened. It did, my partner could not sleep, we rushed to a+e at 4am (3/11/13). After a wait of 3 hours we were seen. No pain relief was offered and clearly my partner was in pain, we had to ask for something 5 hours after arriving. No fluids were offered to her either. Bloods and urine were taken, results came back about 10:30am (7.5 hours from arrival) They came back clear, and we were told there was nothing else they could do, we asked for any other scans and were told to go home and book with a GP. Today my partner had a scan privately and she has a 12cm ovarian cyst, and needs an urgent operation. I am so disgusted in the lack of correct treatment and duty of care, we were sent home with no answers and still in pain. I want to know why my partner was not seen to correctly or given an ultra sound to diagnose the problem.
