"the most amazing care"

About: Community Midwifery / Newry & Mourne Daisy Hill Hospital / Maternity care Daisy Hill Hospital / Theatres/Recovery Maternity care / Maternity Ward Maternity care / Maternity/Gynae Outpatients

(as the patient),

I recently had my daughter in Daisy Hill Hospital in late February. I was under the care of Doctor Chinnadurai throughout my pregnancy. I received the most amazing care from my very first visit to Dr Chinnadurai. I was so well informed and very reassured during my entire pregnancy. I Was in for an elective cesarean. On arrival I was met by the most amazing midwife Imelda, who was so welcoming and made me and my husband feel very at ease when we were feeling anxious about going to theatre. She has the most amazing nature and her bubbly energy is infectious! Then Ruth the midwife came up to take us down to theatre who was just amazing. I was so nervous about the spinal block and she held my hand and really settled my nerves. The anaesthetist was absolutely brilliant! Made me feel so relaxed during my section, especially when i felt abit anxious and panicked during it. When i was in theatre, there was an amazing maternity assistant called Kerrie, who was so lovely and very supportive throughout my experience. My cesarean was done by Doctor Sharma, who was absolutely fantastic. He was very thorough and reassuring. After my cesarean, Natalie the midwife took us to recovery who was absolutely fantastic! She kept us in the best of laughs before taking us back up to the ward.

The staff on the maternity ward are worth their weight in gold especially The clinical sister Patricia was absolutely amazing! Also Rachel and Helena. They are so helpful and attentive. The Health care assistant Oonagh, she was absolutely wonderful. Oonagh couldn't do enough for me during my stay and nothing was too much trouble. I was treated like royalty by everyone. I was moved round to a sideward, which was absolutely amazing! The privacy was wonderful, especially after having a cesarean, I definitely was able to rest alot more.

All three of my daughters were born in Daisy Hill and I have never been able to fault the care I have received. There are so many names to mention that I have probably forgotten, but each and every member of staff are out of this world. We are so lucky to have such an amazing maternity team in Daisy Hill.

After I was discharged from the hospital, I had a team of fantastic community midwives come to my house for home visits. Rebecca was absolutely first class. She went over and above on her care and was so thorough chasing up swab results and antibiotics for me. She was an absolute angel! Also Joanne who visited me twice. Joanne was so lovely and supportive. My newborn daughter and i were so well cared for.

I am so grateful for the absolutely amazing staff who looked after me throughout my experience in Daisy Hill Maternity. I will always remember how much they did for me. I will forever sing praises about them to anyone I meet.

The maternity team in Daisy Hill are the best!!
