"Delivery and postnatal care"

About: Maternity care / Community Midwives Maternity care / Consultant Led Unit Maternity care / Maternity Ward Victoria Hospital / Neonatal Unit

(as the patient),

Had my little guy in early April 2024 and the midwife (Alisha) who delivered him was just fantastic throughout!

I don’t remember much of it but what I do remember was how she put me at ease and reassured me to listen to my body rather than tell me what to do or not to do.

Also my postnatal care was 100 percent top tier. Nursery nurse Sandra is one of the best! If it wasn’t for her fast thinking and her amazing knowledge my baby wouldn’t have got the care he needed. She had the most positive outlook the whole day and when my boy showed signs of being unwell she was quick to get the appropriate team needed.

Although every member of staff was amazing those two stood out & I am forever thankful to them and all the team in the consultant led unit, the labour ward and the neonatal unit!

Thanks again

HI Caringmc69.

It was lovely to hear from you. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience.

The woman midwife relationship is one of partnership and we are glad you felt the reassurance and support from Alisha to empower you to listen to your body. I will ensure to share your kind wishes with her. Staff appreciate feedback.

We am sad to hear your son was poorly, We hope he is fully recovered, safe and cosy settled at home. Our Nursery Nurses are a valued members of our multidisciplinary team. Their knowledge and skills are ideally placed in the postnatal areas. I will share your feedback with Sandra and highlight her positivity was appreciated.
