I was told I had been contacted several times but nothing showed on my mobile.I had to ring and ring to get to see or talk to a Dr. I missed a call from the Dr at 11.30 as I was in the toilet. I called in the afternoon to check what was happening and was told that I was still on the list and to stay close to my phone. Until 5.00 when I needed to get to the chemist to pick up my morphine tablets. On picking them up I received a text telling me that I had missed several calls and if my problem persists to call 111 or 999. I called the surgery as it was about 5.35 now and was told again I had missed several calls. The phone had never left my hand all afternoon. I was distressed by now and the girl on the phone said they would contact the duty Dr. I was called back and asked to go to the surgery where I was seen and given anti biotics for a chest infection. I used the correct system and did nothing wrong except going to the toilet. May I add, if I had known to expect a phone call then maybe I would have taken my phone to the toilet with me. The advice is that it can take up to 3 working days to reply. The Dr who saw me emphasised that if things got worse its imperative that I ring 111 or 999 as asthma
can deteriate very quickly. Humm!!!
