"The care my dad received was amazing"

About: Community Nursing Services / Nottingham West End of Life Co-ordinator

(as a service user),

My father was on the caseload for end of life care. As a team member of these community teams he was under I knew I would get exceptional care. I know our palliative care is amazing and that we have great pride in delivering this service, however as a service user I have now experienced this first hand.

The care my dad received was amazing, they made sure he was treated with respect and dignity at all times, they spent time listening and discussing his concerns and treatment. They supported my mum and us as a family and made difficult time for us easier. My dad was able to die at home supported and comfortable. We can not thank them enough.

As a team member, I had the most amazing support, from my head of service, both my clinical leads, our community matron, my DNS and every member of the team.

They have been amazing. I am sure they do not even realise how much they have helped me and continue doing so.

Thank you for you feedback, I will ensure it is shared with the Nottingham West team - it is good to know that the care and support given is making a difference.

I would like to offer my condolences to you and you family for your loss.

I am glad that you personally felt supported by your whole team, looking after each other is a vital part of what we do.

Deb Tyler. Clinical Lead Nottingham West.
