"The care was excellent"

About: Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh at Little France / Cardiology & Coronary Care Unit Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as the patient),

I recently felt really unwell with sore arm, acid reflux and feeling dizzy.

I knew that things were not well so called an ambulance. After a wait of 2 hours on an ambulance and 3 calls to the emergency services including collapsing in my home, the ambulance arrived. From this point on the care was excellent and I was rushed to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and had an emergency stent fitted that evening then a further stent fitted later. Then discharged.

The Cath Lab and ward 114 staff were excellent and the professional care I was given after my heart attack was excellent. I have nothing but praise and gratitude to all involved in my care and thank all from the bottom of my heart.

Dear Patient 54

Thank you for sharing your story. It must have been a very frightening time and I am sorry to read that you had to wait 2 hours for the ambulance.

If you would like me to have this matter investigated may I ask that you contact our Patient Experience Team as sas.feedback@nhs.scot with your name, Care Opinion name and the address and date we attended.

We will also be able to pass on your thanks to the ambulance crew if you wish.

I do hope you are recovering well.

Kindest regards

David
