My treatment in Radiotherapy has been absolutely fine. There was a bit of apprehension at first but you soon get into the routine and are able to chat to other folk who come regularly.

Staff here are absolutely fantastic - they always know your name which is really good. The radiographers are always cheery too.

One small point is that when I am in the main hospital I find it difficult to find my way around - perhaps a system of coloured signs would be helpful in these situations.

As someone from a different part of the world I have to say that the National Health Service in this country is excellent, due mainly in my opinion to the staff who are all great, especially when working under the financial pressure which is always there at the present time.

Dear Tosh1, thank you for taking the time to feedback your experience of our Radiotherapy Department. My name is Bob, one of the Support Workers who would have welcomed you to our department. I appreciate that most patients are a little anxious about attending for treatment as there can be a sense of entering the ‘unknown’. As you say, most patients quickly adapt to their own routine regarding preparation for treatment and become quite comfortable.

It is lovely to hear of our staff as ‘fantastic’. I will pass on your kind words to the other Support Workers and to our Therapeutic Radiographers who will appreciate your thoughts.

I will also pass on your thoughts to our Head of Therapeutic Radiography regarding the colour coding of routes within the hospital to our department, thank you.

On behalf of everyone here, I hope you benefit from your treatment and wish you well for the future.
