"Staff in ward 7 were so lovely"

About: General Surgery / General Surgery (Ward 7 & 8) Ninewells Hospital / Accident & Emergency

(as the patient),

I came by ambulance to A&E. The ambulance arrived quickly and the first responder then paramedics were very efficient and caring.

Then in A&E the staff there were kind and understanding, sympathetic to how I was feeling and I felt listened to.

I was admitted to ward 7 which was very busy but I was welcomed and made to feel comfortable. I had to have some tests which I didn’t have to wait long for. The results of the tests were a shock and worrying, but everything was explained to me properly and with empathy and care.

The staff in ward 7 were so lovely. I can’t describe how nice and friendly yet professional they are. Nothing was too much trouble even though they were rushed off their feet. Everyone had time for a chat and always made sure I was okay.

I was offered so many cups of tea I almost drowned in it haha. I was supposed to be transferred to ward 3 but there were no beds. I was quite happy to stay in ward 7 though, as I liked the staff so much. The ward was also really clean and bright.

When I was eventually ready to go home everyone was really helpful with my discharge.

I would like to say a huge thank you to the staff in Ward 7, for taking such good care of me, having time to listen to me and care about me.
