"Post intravitreal injection"

About: Mater Hospital / Macular Unit

(as the patient),

I found out at the macular clinic i had a retinal vein occlusion.

Dr Williams advised me i would need 1 to 6 eye injections to clear fluid.

I was very anxious, nervous not knowing what to expect. He informed me it sounds worse than it is. Others have described it as feeling pressure.

Dr Gupta did my first injection. I was put at ease by Dr Gupta and Joanne.

They explained freezing my eye, lots of drops were used, it did not feel like an injection more like a pressure push that was very quick.

They both held my hand at different stages. I am so grateful for their care, putting me at ease, explaining clearly. Thank you.
