"Knowledge and expertise surrounding deafness"

About: Gartnavel General Hospital / Audiology

(as a relative),

I recently accompanied my 91 year old mum to an appointment at the Audiology clinic within Gartnavel General Hospital in Glasgow. She is profoundly deaf and struggled with digital hearing aids issued to her in previous appointments. So much so that she eventually stopped using them.

On this appointment we were so fortunate to be attended by Kenneth within the department. His level of care and his genuine concern to help my mum went way beyond any expectations I had before the appointment.

Kenneth treated my mum with such empathy and understanding that I feel he deserves recognition. Whilst the NHS is generally under fire in the public eye Kenneth is a shining example of all that is good about the NHS.

It was a pleasure to be on the receiving end of his knowledge and expertise surrounding deafness, and he definitely improved my mums hearing during the appointment.

He even modified a generic ear mould to allow my mum use of the new hearing aids he supplied until her next appointment.

Restored my faith in the NHS.

Dear RCR1

Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. It is heartening to read about the care and support Kenneth provided to your mum and how this restored your faith in the NHS. It's great that Kenneth was able to improve your mum’s hearing during the appointment. I am sure that Kenneth will be very grateful for your comments.

Best wishes

Nicole
