About: Broadford Hospital, Isle of Skye General Practices in NHS Highland Mackinnon Memorial Hospital / Radiology

Rural community mainland NW Highland. Pensioner. Relocated at lockdown and changed GP to ensure could get vaccinations and boosters.

Since then outstanding care - lucky to be able phone up and get a face to face appointment on the same day. The practice dispenses as well so no worries about getting to a pharmacist.

Recently had 2 unprecedented chest infections making me bedridden for at least a week each and leaving me weak after. Wonderful short notice appointment on closing day before Easter weekend. Antibiotics, inhaler prescribed and chest X Ray arranged for immediately after the holiday.

Appointment made to suit my timetable and Broadford Hospital had me in and seen and out inside 15 minutes- having arrived early was out before my appointment time.

I feel so much safer cared for and well served than my 40 years in the Central Belt. Not their fault, but at my age it is a real comfort to know that when I need it, acute care is available. Swings and roundabouts as I cannot get another treatment for a chronic condition, but on balance I feel safer in this lovely community.
