Having had cataract surgery carried out on my left eye by your branch at Upton Road, Poole on Wednesday 28th February and having now completed the post surgery treatment of inserting the eye drops on a daily basis, in accordance with the recommendations supplied by your clinic, I am now setting out my comments on the experience.
I have to say that the whole treatment was, in my view, exceptional.
I was treated very kindly and courteously by all the staff at your premises. The surroundings were very comfortable and the plentiful supply of coffee and biscuits helped to pass the time whilst waiting between seeing the various administrative staff, nurses, surgeons, and others which made the whole occasion relaxing and free from any form of stress.
Since the treatment I have found that the vision in my left eye has improved considerably and is very superior to that of my untreated right eye.
Objects viewed with my left eye are sharp and clear and in a bright clear light whereas I now find that those seen through my right eye alone, are a little cloudy and vague and they have a tinge of yellow or sepia colouring.
My principal problem now is that I cannot read a book or magazine without using a magnifying glass, unless the print is very large. Normally I wear glasses with varifocal lenses but now these give no benefit and make my close vision worse. I do hope that I can have a similar procedure carried out on my right eye but until this is done I do not wish to go the expense and trouble of having new lenses fitted to my glasses. Is it now possible to have the cataract procedure on my right eye? After that I can arrange for my optician to fit new lenses to my glasses which will be suitable for the lenses which are then in both eyes?
One again I would like to express my gratitude for the surgery carried so far out in such a smooth and efficient manner.
