"Made me feel very lucky to have been so well looked after"

About: Gartnavel General Hospital / Ophthalmology (eye problems) (Ward 1c) University Hospital Hairmyres / Ophthalmology

(as a service user),

I cannot begin to thank all colleagues involved in process of care that started by me seeing a lens practitioner (Jacqueline in Wishaw).

Thereafter, quickly referred in to Hairmyres Eye Clinic where I was seen by a lovely and reassuring nurse (Shona), then the efficient eye scanner and a Dr who explained position thoroughly and what would need to happen next (Dr Imrie).

As a result, was seen at Gartnaval eye clinic. All contact with Ward over weekend was reassuring and kind before being seen today by Dr Hind. Thankfully did not in the end need surgery.

Whole process was slick, reassuring and most of all made me feel very lucky to have been so well looked after- especially on a holiday weekend when most other people are spending time with own family. Big thanks to all of you !

Dear Polds47,

Thank you for taking the time to feedback and relay your thanks to the Ophthalmology service following your appointment in Gartnavel General Hospital.

I am pleased to hear the transfer of your care was seamless from NHS Lanarkshire to NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and that you felt reassured and informed throughout.

I will pass on your thanks to our teams who I am sure will be touched by your kind words.

Very best wishes,

Liza Campbell

Dear Polds47

Thank you for sharing your positive feedback in relation to your treatment over the holiday weekend. I am pleased to read that you felt well looked throughout your journey of care. Sorry that you were not able to spend time with your family as needed treatment.

I will also share your comments with the wider team and those staff that you have kindly taken the time to mention. They will appreciate your feedback.

I am pleased to see that you did not need surgery and hope that you are recovering well.

Kind regards and many thanks for your comments
