About: Fern Centre North Devon District Hospital / Intensive & Critical Care Unit

(as a relative),

My dad was on holiday and taken ill. He had to have an emergency operation and stay in ICU and then Lundy ward for ten days.

Mum and I stayed at Fern as did my sister for a few days.

The centre was lovely, calming and a place where we could recharge. It was easy for my mum to walk to and from from the wards. The staff were excellent and very friendly while respecting our need for privacy.

The centre was well equipped with everything we needed . Thankyou for tea, coffee, milk and biscuits and books. The only improvement would be having a toaster.

Thank you for taking the time to leave lovely feedback about The Fern Centre.

I'm so happy that you were able to use the centre and you found it so beneficial for you and your mum. It's lovely to read that you found the centre a calming place and you were able to recharge whilst your dad was on the ward.

I've taken on board your feedback regarding a toaster being kept in the centre but due to health and safety reasons we wouldn't be able to supply one.

I will forward your lovely feedback about The Fern Centre to our wonderful volunteers that help support the centre.
