"Left the session feeling validated"

About: Children and Young People Services / Child and Adolescent Mental Services

(as a parent/guardian),

Depression anxiety autism and transgenderism.

Left the session feeling validated taken seriously and with a plan in place. To try to break the cycle of depression and anxiety especially. Meeting was productive and helpful, whereas we had hoped for anti depressants going into the meeting we were not upset that it was not given at this time, instead reasons and options were discussed and help offered while an assessment is being done.

Hello – thank you for taking the time to share your story with Care Opinion. I am glad that you felt listened to when you attended CAMHS and that a full explanation had been provided for not prescribing antidepressants. Getting a full history is very important and assessment is ongoing. I hope you continue to feel that CAMHS will provide the therapeutic intervention that you require and that the relationship will remain positive. At this time I wish you well.

Regards

Shirley

Manager CAMHS
