About: Ninewells Hospital / Acute Medical Unit (AMU) Pain management / Inpatients

(as a service user),

I was admitted to AMU to get a severe pain investigated. There were three staff who stood out (as well as the Drs and Registrars) and deserve recognition.

Jamie was my nurse on night shift but remained as positive and caring from the moment she started until she finished. My daytime care with Hannah my nurse and Maureen my HCA was equally as impressive. Maureen did not stop!

They enabled me to remain calm and managed my pain without me having to suffer at all. They managed to make me feel unique despite being one of many. AMU is a difficult area, assessing patients and engaging with many different specialisms. Thank you 🤩 the people who make the NHS, who have contributed one by one to save my life twice and give me continuous care and support.

Dear Boyledsweetie

Thank you so much for this feedback and I will ensure that this is passed on to Jamie, Hannah and Maureen. To get such lovely feedback really does give staff a boost especially is such a busy area with multiple demands on the team. I will ensure that this is shared with the medical team as well.
