"Exceptional Care & Attention"

About: University Hospital Ayr / Urology

(as a service user),

I was passing blood and after consulting my GP was referred to Ballochmyle Suite.

From my very first appointment the team that dealt with me showed kindness and genuine care for my wellbeing.  They took the time to explain what they were doing and what they would like to do  (I am hard of hearing and wear 2 hearing aids) and also allowed my family to attend appointments with me so they were fully informed too.

I had an operation to remove a tumour from my bladder and when I went back for my post op consultation they confirmed it was a malignant tumour, and that they would like me to have a MRI scan and then once they had those results would agree the next course of action.  I had my scan within a week, which I thought was great service from the NHS, and a follow up appointment with Ayr the following week.

Happy to advise the scan was clear and at the moment I don’t require any further treatment.  They gave me contact details should I experience  symptoms again and told me not to hesitate to contact them.

I know I am fortunate that I don’t need any treatment and really want to thank the NHS but in particular the staff at Ballochmyle Suite Ayr Hospital for their exceptional care and attention they have shown me.

Dear fornaxqf43

I would like to thank you for taking the time and trouble to share this lovely feedback following your recent attendance at the Ballochmyle Suite within University Hospital Ayr.

I am sorry to hear that you have had to spend time in hospital for tests and follow up investigations and treatment. This must have been a very anxious time for you.

I am delighted to hear that you received such prompt, professional and exceptional care from all of our staff. This is a lovely example of Teams working together to provide the patient centred care we always aim to deliver. I'm so glad to hear that your scan was clear and you do not need any further treatment.

Our staff really appreciate receiving feedback from their patients and it will be my pleasure to share your kind comments with the wider Teams who would have taken care of you, and in particular the staff within the Ballochmyle Suite.

Please accept my best wishes for your ongoing recovery and thank you once again for taking the time to acknowledge your care experience.

Kind Regards

Pamela
