I cannot thank the staff from NHS 24 and the Vale of Leven fracture and X-ray departments enough. Since clumsily falling down some stairs (perhaps alcohol-assisted...) and reluctantly admitting that it was actually more serious than I thought a few days later, I've had nothing but great service and a truly positive view of our NHS. The staff on NHS 24 referred me to the Vale of Leven hospital on the same day I called, I met my consultant, had a couple of X-rays and was provided with a sling and much needed painkillers.
I had a review with my consultant on the 14th and another this morning (the 28th of Mar). For both of the subsequent appointments I was provided with excellent and prompt care (the one this morning was all done in 20 minutes from arrival at reception to leaving the building).
I recognise that the NHS is under constant pressure (my sister-in-law is a paramedic) but I wanted to express my gratitude and how very impressed I was with the care, banter and attention I was offered - I truly consider this a 'good news story' despite my broken arm!
Please pass on my appreciation and admiration to your staff, both on NHS 24 and at the Vale of Leven hospital - you've put a smile on this clumsy moron's face!
