After 3 injections I was unfortunate enough to catch Covid. This was not the way I expected Covid to be, in that it was gastric. I was despairatly ill for 10 days but gradually got back to normal.
Two weeks later my whole body swelled up and I was given fluid tablets by my GP which did nothing to help.
After getting chest pains I panicked and went to A&E and was whisked into hospital. This was the Lagan Valley Hospital in Lisburn. I was thoroughly tested for everything as my blood and sodium levels were very low. The kindness and care I received was excellent.
I was then fast tracked through several hospital appointments, many at the Ulster hospital. I told everybody I had a full MOT. It was eventually discovered I had kidney disease which was fortunately treatable with steroids and antibiotics.
I am still under the kidney clinic at the Ulster but am fully recovered. I cannot praise the staff at the kidney clinic enough. They made me feel totally confident in them and went the extra mile to reassure me all would be well.
When I hear stories about lack of care I cannot believe it because I could not have been treated better if I had been the Queen. From the nurses taking blood to the doctors and consultants everybody was fantastic.
Thank you so much to you all.
