"Pacemaker renewal"

(as the patient),

I went in to Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary for a pacemaker renewal after having my old one for 11 years. I was slightly apprehensive but everybody at the hospital made the experience easier. The surgeon Omar was informative and put me at ease and his whole team lead by Karen were efficient and kept me aware of what was happening.

I was impressed by the pre-op staff, especially nurse Jenna who was professional but friendly and after the op she even multi-tasked as the lunch trolley lady due to staff shortages. I cannot praise the whole team involved at DGRI enough, and that includes Rachael and Jill in the Pacing department. 

After the op I was given plenty of advice on how to take care of the incision area to ensure it healed properly.
