About: Sexual Health Services - Telford and Wrekin (Open Clinic)

(as a service user),

Nurse wouldn’t proceed as my 5 year old was with me I told them ok I understand that your procedure I was not made aware they said it states on website I told them I called to make appointment your phone person who books appointment should of said then I would of arranged as it hard childcare as my husband works I then told the staff member I can drop her off as I live not far away as I had ten minutes left for my appointment as I got there early  they refused and to be honest they were very cold with there attitudes and not very understanding at all.

I felt vey uncomfortable the clinic is 5 minutes from my sisters house I would of dropped her she rearranged but I will be booking elsewhere rather then going to a place were staff leave the room to see what they can do about the situation and shut the door behind them I could hear every word they were discussing so uncomfortable!

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback which we welcome. I am so sorry to hear that you felt our colleagues did not treat you with the respect you deserve and should expect and was left to feel uncomfortable. I understand that you may have had time to arrange childcare, however the clinic that you attended has back-to-back patients due to the demand for the service. Delaying the clinic would have had a massive impact on not only the clinic but also other patients attending. No children in clinic is an area that the team is already aware of and has been discussed recently. Due to the nature of our service, and the equipment within each room, we are unable to provide supervision for children whilst tests and procedures are being carried out. To ensure their safety there are limitations to the care that we can provide within their presence. There is signage within the clinic to reinforce this and we have placed the information on our website to ensure all our patients are appropriately informed. if you wish to discuss this further, please do not hesitate to contact me
