"The care we received was just amazing"

About: Maternity care (Ward 31) / Labour suite maternity Maternity care (Ward 31) / Maternity care (Ward 31)

(as the patient),

We got home a week after our baby boy was born. We stayed in ward 31 after giving birth in the Labour ward. I gave birth after being admitted with preeaclampsia.

Elizabeth from my consultant appointment - you were so kind, caring and thorough and I’ll always remember that you came and checked on me before you went home. Carol in Triage - your presence just made me feel so at ease and comforted.

Rachel for the care in the Labour ward and for coming to see us once we were in ward 31. Diane and her student Caitlin you were amazing the first half of my Labour and then Fiona - I literally couldn’t have done it without you. Thank you for staying a wee bit over your shift to get my baby boy into this world and make me feel comforted. Peter for making the process of getting an epidural seem easy and for being so calm. Lesley and student Neil in the Labour ward for the amazing care in his first hours.

All the staff in ward 31 that looked after us: Victoria, Lesley, Gail, Sharon, Sacha, Emily and others (just know faces not names but you were so unbelievably kind to us). And a special mention to Amanda the MCA - definitely need to give you some credit for getting my blood pressure under control. You were so lovely and kind and your presence made our stay better, we loved when you came into our room.

Also need to mention the care from the consultants, the doctors and junior doctors and paediatricians. We were in awe of you all. We don’t know how you do it.

I hope I’ve not missed anyone out but needed to name drop people because the care we received was just amazing. We do not know how you guys do it and we cannot thank you enough.
