My Partner has been diagnosed with a horizontal impacted wisdom tooth. Needless to say, it caused her great discomfort.
Upon contacting NHS24 out of hours, she was referred directly to Glasgow Dental Hospital after a nurse triaged her.
She visited her own dentist earlier that day. She was honest and admitted taking approximately 10 paracetamol tablets within the previous 24 hour period to alleviate the pain.
We were then phoned back shortly thereafter to be told: please do not travel, treatment will be refused on the grounds that you've exceeded the recommended dosage.
This caused us distress as my partner was in significant discomfort.
"Refused treatment"
