"Fantastic staff"

About: Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance University Hospital Hairmyres / Diabetes care (Ward 10) University Hospital Hairmyres / Emergency Department

(as a relative),

My mum was found non responsive in her bed at home and we had to call an ambulance.

A team of 3 from Dumfries came. Firstly, they were fantastic really helped put me and my family at ease in such a stressful time. They then took my mum to Hairmyres A &E where we met Dr. Cairns who was fantastic and a real credit to the hospital, his bedside manner is brilliant. He took me and my family to a side room to discuss my mums treatment and condition with us, confirming our understanding and offering opportunities to ask questions as he described each issue. In short he was kind, patient and knowledgeable everything you need and want in a doctor.

My mum is now in ward 10 where she has been receiving fantastic care from the ward 10 staff she was having a good laugh with Gillian the other day who was making my mums hospital stay so much nicer. Thank you to all the staff we have encountered so far on this admission.

Dear oscarqf98

Thank you for taking the time to share such positive feedback following your mum's admission to A&E and ward 10. It must have been a worrying time for yourself, your family and of course your mum. To see that you and your family were put at ease is important feeedback. Dr Cairns will be delighted that you felt he was kind, patient and knowledgeable. Your comments will be shared with both Dr Cairns and Gillian as well as the wider teams.

I see that your mum is now in ward 10 and receiving ongoing care, managing to have a laugh with Gillian. That is indeed lovely to see.

I hope that your mums care journey continues to be positive.

Thank you again for your time.

Kind regards

Lise
