"Credit for a job well done"

About: ICST (Community Nursing, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy) / ICST (Community Nursing, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy) Carluke University Hospital Wishaw / Emergency Department

(as a service user),

I attended Whishaw general with my wife who need to have a ring cut of her finger (my suggestion was to cut off the finger). My wife has some mobility issues and cannot walk fast but as soon as we drove into the car park we were able to find a parking space near the entrance. When we got to the entrance the was a wheel chair available so my wife was able to use that.

We were seen by Amanda and Laura in the Minor injuries Unit and they were excellent. The took their time and were spot on. We were in and out in 2 hours. Then when we were finished a nurse pushed my wife in the wheelchair back outside to the care. Everything was excellent.

Then today a district nurse came to change my wife's dressing. We have been very impressed and wanted to give stuff the credit for a job well done.

Hi Mineralcq68,

Thank you so much for taking the time to write this lovely message.

I’m sorry that your wife had to have a ring cut off but I’m happy to hear our nurses didn’t listen to your suggestion!

I have already spoken to Amanda and Laura who were delighted to hear that you were so happy with the care they provided, you were both a pleasure to have in our department.

I hope your wife continues to make a quick recovery.

Many thanks again for taking the time to share your experience in our Minor Injuries Unit.

Best Wishes to you both,

Caroline

Dear Mineralcq68,

Thank you for taking the time to share your positive experience about the recent care that your wife received when attending the Minor Injuries Unit at UHW and the follow up care from Carluke District Nursing Team.

I am delighted to hear that she received excellent care from our district nurse service. I have already passed on your appreciation to the team and they were thrilled with your kind feedback.

Your compliments are truly appreciated and thank you once again for taking the time to share your experience.

I hope your wife is recovering well.

Kind regards,

Maureen
