I was involved in a motorcycle road traffic collision, I requied pre hospital emergency care with ambulances, paramedics and NWH trauma team to sedate me, I was assessed in NWH accident and emergency and eventually transferred to ward 23b after CT scan for ongoing neuro care. I was kept in for 4 weeks and discharged after receiving Burr hole treatment for subdural haematoma.
During the 4 weeks, I was seen by specialist, physio therapy, trauma psychology, and cared for by doctors, pharmacist, nurses, auxiliary staff, and student nurses. Who I cannot thank enough for the care I received.
After my discharge I received ongoing care from occupational therapist at Royal Victoria Hospital, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Unit that has now led me to the vocational therapy services to get me back to work.
