"More support for staff"

About: Royal Alexandra Hospital / Accident & Emergency Royal Alexandra Hospital / Acute Medical Unit (Ward 2) Royal Alexandra Hospital / General Medicine (wards 8, 10, 11, 14, 18 & 27)

(as the patient),

I just wanted to say that the care I received at the RAH was amazing, the staff are over worked and stretched to the limit but still keep smiling.

A&E were ramped and I had to spend 24 hours there before I got a bed on a ward which was tough but not their fault, more needs to get done to give them more staff and support.

I pay a lot of tax and where is it going, I never go to the doctors or the hospital but this time was serious, I took ill on a flight and had to be removed by Paramedics.

The ward staff at all levels were also great, despite some patients being very rude to them.

Dear Lydia947

Thank you for recognising your experience whilst in the RAH. Being responsible for A&E, your kind words are appreciated. Often our department can be overwhelmed and we do our best ensure the appropriate staffing is in place.

I'm sorry for your prolonged wait and do hope your recovery is ongoing.

I will share your post with my colleagues.

Many thanks.

Gerry
