"Awful Practice"

About: Red Roofs Surgery

I am a CKD stage 5 patient. And due to my medical condition I needed to see a doctor many a time but was never granted an appointment. Everytime it was always the case of, "Why do you want sn appointment" and then the same sentence, "we do not have any appointments today, call tomorrow". The thing is that if someone has called today and the appointment is not available, don't you think he should get a priority appt. the next day rather than being in the queue for another hour or so and then being told the same thing. This actually looked like shooing away the patients than to encourage them to come.

Who in their right mind would call the surgery to have a cup of coffee and a gossip with the doctor?

Unfortunately I had to change the surgery and now I am a happy bunny.

People calling the surgery are not seeking fun, they are patients with myriad problems and when they are not helped they are heartbroken.

I'm surprised the surgery is still open.

Dear Patient

I am sorry that you have experienced poor service with us and have found the need to move surgery. We have introduced a new online triage booking service and a call back telephone system to try and alleviate the problem of access to appointments for patients. Unfortunately we are not always able to offer on the day appointments due to demand but hope that this new process will enable more patients to access appointments within an appropriate time scale to match the urgency of their medical problem.

Kind Regards

Cheryl Flude - Operations Manager
