"Excellent care"

About: Arbroath Infirmary / Minor Injuries

(as a service user),

As a Nurse myself it was extremely different to have a view of what it feels like to be on the receiving end of care. I wounded my foot at home and was diverted to my own place of work at the Minor Injury unit in Arbroath.

I was advised every step of the way of what the plan was. I was reassured, treated with dignity and respect. I was given the opportunity to ask questions and nobody assumed that I would already know with me being a nurse myself. My nurse head had left and I felt very vulnerable receiving care, I was anxious and upset at my own stupidity.

The Nurse Fiona was excellent. She calmed me down, gave me time to catch my breath with a glass of water and then managed my wound brilliantly. I'm extremely proud to be part of such an amazing team. The only that that could have been better is a biscuit would have gone down a treat, haha.

Dear JM22,

Thank you for taking the time to leave a Care Opinion about the Arbroath Minor Injury Department. Your opinion really matters to us.

I am sorry to hear about the injury you sustained to your foot and hope you are making a speedy recovery.

It was fantastic to hear about the excellent care you received from Nurse Fiona who was able to reassure and treat you with dignity and respect. I know it can be hard as a nurse to become the patient but you were in safe hand. I will make sure to pass your kind words on to all the Minor Injury Team

Regards
