We recently gave birth in Telford Hospital. The care we received for the majority of our time at Princess Royal Hospital, in both the delivery & postnatal units, was brilliant.
All staff were extremely friendly, informative and ensured that we remained as calm as possible. They repeatedly ensured we understood all decisions were ours and that we were in control.
Unfortunately, we believe a single member of staff displayed scaremongering tactics when questioned on potential risks of treatment. The most sever case of this was when our child required UV treatment for jaundice and we were concerned as to whether there was any risk to this treatment as things were moving fast. When the question 'are there any risks to blue light therapy' was raised, we were simply told 'the risk is if you don't have it, your baby might die'.
