My brother was taken into hospital 3weeks ago suffering from an infection and a very high temperature and was very ill. He was in ward B31 and was moved to ward B23.
He is severely disabled and also cannot communicate very well with staff which is proving difficult. He has lost a bit of weight because of being ill and having no appetite but is now eating much better.
Recently, I was there when the evening meals were being served and all my brother got was a bowl of soup and I asked one of the staff why there wasnt a main course. They said they would go and see about it, this other member of staff then came in with a main course dumped it down on the table. I was then told that my brother had only asked for soup. I said he probably doesn't understand how the meal system works.
I did not like this person's attitude, anyone with a bit of common sense can see my brother is vulnerable, if I hadn't been in at meal time then my brother would have been starving with only a bowl of soup.
I have no complaints about any of the other staff on ward B23 as they have been nice and helpful.
I certainly won't be spoken to in this manner as if i were a nuisance.
