About: Loane House South Tyrone Hospital / Orthopaedic surgery South Tyrone Hospital / Ward 1 (Stroke care)

My Dad was admitted to Ward 1 Loane House in the South Tyrone Hospital about 8 weeks ago post hip replacement in Altnagelvin.

I just wanted to acknowledge the excellent care and attention he got every day until his discharge recently. Every member of staff treated him with the greatest care and respect as a valuable older citizen. He was very lucky to have such focused rehab that has enabled him to come home in a way that will let him continue his life to fullest of his ability.

On a daily basis his rehab was attended to by the care attendants, support staff, nursing staff, physio, OT and the ward  Social Worker. All were stars and looked after Dad as if he was their own father. We are all eternally grateful for this and know that Dad will cherish the memories and friendships he gained there.

It is delightful to read how you have described the staff as "stars" and how your father benefitted from specific rehab daily.

This has enabled your father to go home in a way that will let him continue his life to the fullest of his ability!

This reflects on the rehab ethos and therefore care has been delivered appropriately and in turn your father has experienced high quality person centered care.
