"All round a fast, efficient and excellent experience."

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Coronary Care Unit (CCU) Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

(as a relative),

My dad was admitted to IAU with atrial fibrillation. The care he experienced was fantastic.

Christine at reception was very helpful. Steven the nurse was so lovely and efficient. Ronan the health care support worker was great and very patient with my stone deaf father. Fiona the senior charge nurse was lovely too.

Everything was very slick and efficient, and I felt my dad was very safe in IAU. He was seen quickly by Dr Freel the consultant who arranged for him to see the Cardiologist, who saw him within a couple of hours from dad setting foot in the ward.

He was moved quickly to Cardiac Care Unit (CCU) and although I didn’t catch the names of the nursing staff, they were all lovely and caring. Dad felt very safe on CCU and that he was well looked after.

Dr Mangion the cardiology consultant and Dr Eilidh McGinnigle the cardiology registrar were both fantastic and kept me updated by telephone. All round a fast, efficient and excellent experience. Thank you!

Dear gmm85

Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback on Care Opinion.

I was sorry to hear your dad was admitted to IAU with atrial fibrillation. This must have been a very worrying time for you and your family.

I was however very pleased to hear the care and treatment he received from our staff was to a high standard and he felt welcomed into both IAU and CCU.

I will be delighted to share your feedback with all the staff especially Dr Mangion and Dr Eilidh McGinnigle. Your story really is the reason they do what they do. By generously sharing your story, you allow us to celebrate with you - something we truly treasure.

I hope your dad is feeling a lot better and recovering well back at home.

Kind regards

Kevin
