I was suffering from poor/blurred vision in my right eye so I rang up my opticians who gave me contact numbers for Acute Community Eyecare Service (ACES).
I contacted ACES who were able to book me in for an emergency appointment that day. I visited ACES and was advised I had a bleed/tear and they would organise an appointment in Ophthalmology.
I was called up the next day and went into Musgrove Park Hospital and was seen by an Optician and Doctor who advised I needed laser surgery to fix my tear.
I had laser surgery but blacked out and was then admitted to the Acute Medical Unit (AMU) and had tests done, I was treated with respect and dignity and released that day.
I was then called up by Ophthalmology the next day and completed my laser surgery on my eye. A couple of days ago I visited Ophthalmology for a follow up appointment and was advised all looks good. I have another appointment to check in 4 to 6 weeks weeks.
I would like to pass on my sincere thanks to everyone who looked after me. It all happened so quickly and efficiently and I now have peace of mind. Thank You
"Sincere thanks to everyone who looked after me"
