"My two recent hospital experiences"

About: Intermediate and Transitional Care / Community Rehabilitation Team Regional Disablement Service / Amputee Rehabilitation Unit Royal Victoria Hospital / General Surgery

(as the patient),

Admitted to R.V.H. Belfast and had a below knee amputation in October 2023..

Rehab process began at Musgrave Park Hospital in January 2024. I was in Withers Ward 1B from 12th Feb. until 8th March except weekends. This was the most agreeable hospital admission I ever had, I’ve had about 8 or 9. I was happy to return to the ward after weekend.

This pleased the ward staff. I feel it would be of benefit if the ward staff would encourage us to keep up our exercises which we have been doing at home. The whole experience was excellent, very caring, thoughtful staff throughout, also noted by any visitors I had.
