"Streamlined care on NHS"

About: General practices in Tayside Perth Royal Infirmary / Pre-Assessment Clinic

(as a service user),

At pre-assessment clinic in Perth Royal Infirmary for minor operation I was found to have previously unknown and asymptomatic atrial fibrillation. They indicated that they would let general practice know of finding. Practice phoned me at 6pm the same day and arranged further ECG and GP appointment for the following morning. ECG at practice did not show any abnormality. GP downloaded hospital ECG and confirmed it did show atrial fibrillation and confirmed paroxysmal fibrillation. Condition was discussed and treatment agreed with anticoagulant and follow up appointment for 2 weeks. Prescription filled by chemist that morning. From initial finding of fibrillation to starting treatment took less than 24 hours.

Excellent streamlined and integrated care from all participants showing it can be done. Well done and thanks to all concerned.

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback on your recent experience involving PRI pre assessment clinic and your GP practice.

We are delighted to hear of the streamlined and efficient service you received.

I will share your feedback with the team here as it will guide future practice.

Dear lionxh96

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about your GP practice. Feedback is very valuable to all areas of the NHS, and I'm sure their staff will be delighted to hear that your experience of streamlined primary and secondary care has been positive.

Unfortunately, GP practices are not part of Care Opinion at this time, as each practice is an independent business. So that they can see your feedback, we would recommend that you feedback your experience directly to the practice to allow this to be passed on to the staff. The Practice Manager can give you with details of how to provide this feedback to them, as per their Complaints and Feedback Policy.

With best wishes

Victoria Sullivan
