"The staff were extremely professional and caring"

About: East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust / Emergency ambulance Lincoln County Hospital / Accident and emergency Lincoln County Hospital / Cardiology

(as a service user),

My initial contact was amazing, the paramedic came extremely quickly and was very professional, caring and efficient. The ambulance following was just as competent getting me to the hospital smoothly and timely. After further checks (6 hours)  I was finally confirmed as having a heart attack and was told they would be keeping me in and would find me a bed.

Finally after 32 hours sat in a chair in A&E I was moved to the cardiac ward. Now I know things are difficult at the moment but after 18 hours I asked a Dr if he could find out how long I would have to wait, he made some calls a further 14 hours before I was moved.

It would have helped if I could have been moved to a side room even if it was just on a trolley, somewhere quiet away from the hustle and bustle of A&E.

However the staff were extremely professional and caring without them who knows what could have happened to me.

I am very grateful for all their help, support & kindness not only during my stay but also the after care, the cardiac team are amazing thank you so very much, your all truly life savers.

Dear Mrclick1

Thank you for your valuable feedback and I can only apologise for the long wait for a bed. I accept the struggle we have getting patients into private spaces as these spaces are taken up for other ailments that need isolation. I am pleased the staff were caring and professional and I wish you a speedy recovery.

Regards

Fiona

Dear Mrclick1

Thank you for taking the time to share your kind words with us. We do hope you are feeling much better now and we are delighted to hear that our ambulance crews were able to help you in what must have been a scary time for you. We are very proud of our ambulance crews.

If you are able to, we would appreciate you sharing your comments with our Patient Experience team, with as much detail as you can (e.g. date, time and location), so that they might identify the crew who cared for you and share your words with them. You may contact them via our website www.emas.nhs.uk, or via our voicemail line 0333 012 4216 (where we aim to respond to details left within 3 days – please note this is not a “live line”).
