My story is about a torn UCL ligament on my thumb sustained from a skiing accident.
I was obviously relieved that my injury was just a thumb but the torn ligament made it more complicated due to the time limit on the repair. I work as a nurse in a Nursing Home and enjoy physical sports and activities. Having been fortunate to have not experienced any serious injuries previously I was apprehensive about treatment and outcome.
From the moment I attended the Orthopaedic Department in DGRI I was so impressed by their professionalism and the fantastic care I received from all the staff. To repair an injury surgically involved so many different departments. I would like to express my appreciation and gratitude to my surgeon, the Short Stay ward, the Theatre staff, the Orthopaedic department and my OT . I could not have been given a more positive experience and will always be grateful for their expertise and care.
"Impressed by professionalism and fantastic care"
