I was feeling ill and my GP told me to go to RAH A&E. I arrived, they assessed me and said Dr in MAU wanted to see me.
I waited 50 minutes for porter to take me to ward .When I arrived there it was very very busy I had to sit in corridor as waiting room was full.
I was taken for an x-ray. I was waiting for a doctor along with lots of other people. Nursing staff asked everyone if they wanted tea or coffee and a sandwich
I saw the night shift doctor after examination, told me I would have to be admitted overnight. There was no beds in the ward available for me so they had to bring a bed for me into triage room.
I feel sorry for the medical staff, especially the doctor, as there was only one doctor on duty in this department. I cannot praise medical enough, they were very kind and hard working. I feel the need for more doctors in this department as this is a very long stressful time to wait.
I do not like to complain but I thought this should be told to let management be aware of this.
