I just want to express my utmost gratitude for all the staff that were involved in my care for a recent abscess drainage. I was admitted straight to AU2 from my GP practice and was well looked after by Dianne, Lisa, Debby and Caroline - despite it being really busy they still went above any beyond their duty. I am a nurse myself so I am fully aware of the situation we are currently in with relation to the pressures and stresses of the NHS.
My surgeon John was lovely, he put my mind at ease knowing that this would be my first ever GA - his compassion and kindness made me feel so much more relaxed. Similarly, I want to say a massive thanks to my anaesthetist Louise who was professional and made sure that I was treated with dignity and respect whilst showing compassion and kindness. Tommy who was the ODP made me feel very comfortable and at ease pre and post surgery, and I can’t thank him enough! He had such a lovely manner! Thank you so much to Sophie who was there too, you made me feel so much better about the situation.
Lastly, I’m currently in ward 52 and the staff have been very lovely. Brian the domestic was very friendly and should give himself more credit as he’s doing a great job! I have been reviewed by Proctor and Connor who have given me the all clear and hopefully I will be home this afternoon! Shelley, you have a lovely ward!
Thank you all so much for making one very anxious nurse, feel so much better about my recent experience as a patient and I wish everyone could just see there are still as many positives to the NHS!
