"Warm and caring welcome"

About: Western General Hospital / Oncology

(as a relative),

Cancer treatment is very much a journey and like any journey at different points on your travels you meet people. Some you will never remember and others you will, for one reason or another, never forget.

The team that work with cancer patients at the Western are, without exception, second to none.

Each and every department continue to outdo each other when it comes to the standard of care they tailor for every patient. Honestly, dealing with people who are most likely facing the most challenging times of their lives, the staff at this hospital work at a level you would struggle to pay for at a 5 star private outfit.

And here is the thing, the care starts before you walk through the doors. I want to give a special mention to Carol, one of the onsite stewards. Carol can be found at the designated car park for patients receiving treatment. Carol brings a warm and caring welcome to everyone she meets and her approach of balanced personal and professional attributes go towards making each day of a patients journey all the more manageable.

I cant go without mentioning Maggies. The team are fantastic.
