Having had previous cataract day surgery on my left eye, last September, at the New Victoria Hospital, Glasgow, and the whole experience having proved to be excellent, I was advised that the wait time for the other eye would exceed the Governments 5 month aim. Contemplating possible private solutions, I was only prepared to wait a further 2 months before making a decision.
However within Two weeks, after the 5 month wait, I was back at the New Victoria Hospital having the second eye cateract removed by Mr Rochfords wonderful team.
I am so very grateful for the most excellent care and attention which I received from every member of staff who dealt with me. All questions and worries were fully answered and reassurance given and I knew I was always in good hands and fully supported. The only pain was a slight stinging from the antiseptic eye drops used 3 times, the operation took 20 minutes.
If anyone reading this has any reservations about this type of surgery please be assured these lovely people will look after you very very well.
I am so very pleased to have my independence back, and be able to drive safely and enjoy life fully.
This is Our wonderful NHS at its very best, long may it prevail! Thank-you.
"Very grateful for the most excellent care and attention"
