"None of the vending machines can be used"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Accident & emergency

(as a service user),

Spending hours in the waiting area and none of the vending machines that are located there can be used. Serco has a sticker advising that only cash payments can be made yet the vending machines can’t even accept cash.

No member of Serco staff available to ask why they can’t actually provide a service!

Dear Fed up tax payer

Thank you for sharing with us the difficulties you had in using the vending machines within Accident & Emergency.

I would like to apologise for the machines not working, we work extremely hard to ensure that the vending machines work at all times, and I apologise that on this occasion they were not. I know it can be extremely frustrating whilst waiting to be seen particularly when you are feeling unwell and you are not able to obtain something to eat or drink.

Our staff are aware that difficulties happen, items get stuck or run out. I have asked our Serco Team to look into why the vending machines were not working and would like to re-assure you that the Team who maintain the vending machines, attend twice a week to ensure that they remain operational and are stocked.

Once again our apologise and I hope this is helpful.

Kind regards

Caroline
