About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Elective Orthopaedics (Ward 7) University Hospital Hairmyres / Emergency Department University Hospital Hairmyres / Surgical Receiving Unit (Ward 4)

(as a relative),

I wanted to share this feedback as soon as I could. This feedback is about my mum, but also the way in which I have been treated too.

My mum arrived at A&E from her care home. From her arrival on A&E to Ward 4 on surgical and then ward 7 on orthopaedic the treatment of my mum has been amazing-every single member of staff has been absolutely outstanding. I cannot praise them highly enough. The caring and empathy they have shown to me to has been truly brilliant.

The staff really looked after me too-even though I wasn’t their patient. They couldn’t do enough for me, they saw to my every single need- they fed me, brought me coffee and even got me a mattress so I could sleep.

It really all was an example of excellent teamwork. Every single member worked to treat us so well, from the cleaning team to the nurses.

I would like to add a special mention to hostess, Maggie, who has restored my faith in human nature-she is a very special lady.

Thank you all from the bottom of my heart, I will be eternally grateful.

Thank you for sharing you and your mum's experience on Care Opinion at University Hospital Hairmyres.

I am so pleased to hear that not only your mum, but you were also well looked after and supported by all out staff. This must have made a frightening experience much more bearable for you both. Your story is a perfect example of teamwork and I am sure the teams will be so proud to be recognised.

I will ensure that your kind words are passed on to everyone involved and I am sure they will take great pride in their actions. What lovely comments you have made about Maggie, I will ensure these reach her.
