"All made me feel safe"

I noticed a change in my breast contour, a dimpling, a dent and since I saw my GP, my care at Yeovil Hospital has been exemplary. But more than that, the whole Breast Care Team could not have been more caring nor sensitive. From the Consultant Surgeon, the Anaesthetist to the Radiographers, the Day Care Nurses, the Breast Care Nurses -  all made me feel safe, less frightened and able to ask any questions or discuss any concerns. They all had time for me despite their many other patients and demanding workload.

I had a lumpectomy for a small invasive ductal carcinoma with a sentinel lymph node biopsy.  I came home the same day and each day, I have received a phonecall from a Breast Care Nurse which has been so reassuring - a true comfort and support when at home post op. I was very anxious beforehand but once I stepped inside the hospital, I felt looked after and realised that this brilliant team would see me through and they did. Thank you to everyone.
